The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, will run Can Tho-Taipei flights on February 11-12 and Taipei-Can Tho flights on February 20-21, using Boeing 321s during the Lunar New Year festival. The Southern Airports Corporation has invested an additional VND850 billion into upgrading and expanding its runways from 2,400m to 3,000m, permitting Boeing 777 and Boeing 747 aircraft to run more international flights to other countries in Southeast Asia. The first phase of airport upgrade ended in late 2008 with a 45m wide runway, a 27,491m2 plane area and a 2,400m2 passenger area
