Businesses seeking capital by issuing corporate bonds

Since the end of 2009, when the national economy began to show signs of recovery, many enterprises have been rushing to issue corporate bonds, which allow them to seek capital to implement their investment projects and expand the scope of their businesses. On May 26, the Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Corporation (Vinaconex) announced the successful issuance of two trillion dong worth of corporate bonds. The bonds have the face value of one billion dong and the interest rate of 14 percent per annum for the first year.

VN Index continues increasing momentum

After the trading session on May 27, Vietnam’s stock market continued to increase, marking the fourth consecutive gain of VN Index. In details, ending the first phase, the index of Hochiminh Stock Exchange (STC) slashed 1.06 points or 0.22 percent to 491.63 pts with the total trading volume of over 3.3 million shares worth 95.55 billion dong. In the following stage, the VN Index rallied 2.72 points or 0.55 percent to 495.41 pts with the total trading volume of over 30.6 million shares valued at nearly one trillion dong.

Asian stocks recovered yesterday Wednesday May 26 on bargain hunting after huge losses in the previous session, but gains were limited by lingering fears about European debt and tensions on the Korean peninsula. Traders took their cue from Wall Street, where the Dow recovered from heavy losses to end down just 0.23 per cent, although a weak euro continued hurting exporters. SEOUL closed 1.36 per cent, or 21.29 points, higher at 1,582.12 after plunging on Tuesday following unconfirmed reports that the North had put its civilians and army on combat alert

Ending the trading session on May 24, Vietnam’s stock market rallied on both bourses Hochiminh Stock Exchange (STC) and Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX). After the first phase, the VN Index regained 1.41 points or 0.29 percent to 485.1 pts with the total trading volume of 4.1 million shares worth 118.2 billion dong. In the following stage, the VN Index bounced 2.77 points or 0.57 percent to 486.46 pts with the total trading volume of 33 million shares valued at over one trillion dong
