Vietnam hopes it will attract more investors from the Republic of Korea, including the Korea Western Power Co., Ltd. (KOWEPO), says State President Nguyen Minh Triet. While receiving KOWEPO Managing Executive Jung Sung-jin in Hanoi on March 12, Mr Triet welcomed the company’s plan to expand operations in Vietnam and said the country needs to develop the electricity industry as it is carrying out the process of national industrialization and modernization.

Provinces in the Mekong River Delta finished sowing of rice seeds for 1,530,000 ha, equal to 101.4% of the same period last year. At the same time, provinces in the Delta also harvested 268,000 ha of early spring rice, equal to 93.5% of the same period in 2009
